Please be advised that the Philadelphia Water and Sewer Department is changing its computer system.  It is our understanding that during the change over, information being provided to the public is tied to a particular water meter account and will not necessary disclose other related account for the property, for example, prior owner account, or suspension accounts.  Therefore, you should not rely on the public information available on the Internet or on billings provided by property owners.  You will need to confirm account information directly with the water and sewer department.

Some searchers may be able to provide you with more detailed information, but in most instances that information will be good only through December 31, 2007.  You should be sure that you understand what information your search provider is accessing.  It is our understanding that the City is working on updates to the new system and intends to provide a report that will be available to the public which will again show all accounts related to a particular property.  However, it is doubtful that this system will be made available prior to February 1, 2008.
